The art of making music should always be joyous. Those numerous mistakes quickly develop into awesome, wonderful glorious music.

As parents and teachers we must allow the child to develop their musicianship in a loving, caring, nurturing manner. That can be done by listening to the music of our own household. Adults have their own choices, children have an entire different musical world of their own through the daily activities that surround them.

It is important to listen to the music we and our children love. Embrace the sounds we hear, share rhythm through movement.  Allow our inner child to joyfully express the music we hear. Being one of seven children, I fondly remember my father turning on his newest sound system. He encouraged us to freely move throughout the house like galloping ponies to the glorious sounds.

Allow your child to develop joy in their musical experiences. When this happens, their ability to master their instrument will also happen.
